Alexandre Benois Nikolayevich – russo – também conhecido por Alexander Benois (3 de Maio 1870, São Petersburgo – 09 de fevereiro de 1960, Paris ), um artista influente, crítico de arte, historiador, preservacionista, e membro fundador da Mir Iskusstva (World of Art), um movimento de arte e revistas. Como um designer do Ballets Russes de Serge Diaghilev, a influência de Benois “no moderno balé e cenografia” é considerada seminal.
Alexandre nasceu na artística e intelectual família Benois, membros proeminentes da “russo intelligentsia” do século 19 e início do século 20. Seu pai era Nicholas Benois, um arquiteto. Seus irmãos foram Albert Benois e Leon Benois, que se tornou um arquiteto notável. Não planejando uma carreira nas artes, Alexandre se formou na Faculdade de Direito, St. Petersburg University em 1894.
